About The Artist

Sabrina Barnett is an artist living and working in rural Virginia. A graduate of Hollins University with a degree in English (emphasis: Creative Writing), Barnett is interested in how unspoken narrative affects the world of the visual. Inspired by mythologies (both historical and personal), the body, the work of being female, the work of being human, and mysteries, mysticism and magicks of all sorts, Sabrina seeks to create, through her work, self-contained worlds whose mythologies (often imagined), will echo throughout and beyond the spaces they may, at any given time, inhabit. Sabrina hopes to create not just the visual, but the experiential, seeking to invite the audience to engage not just as viewers but as participants, equal partners in the process of creating and the creative, inviting them to indulge in, and respond to, stories all their own.
